Site Summary: http://www.primarygames.com/puzzles/word_searches/eatyourwords/index.htm (4-6)
Primarygames.com has a variety of games for all subject levels. You can have students choose their age level when they register to play games that are appropriate for their age level. There are also sections for teachers and parents, as well as for students. The game that I chose, called Eat Your Words, is a word search game where you are given a list of different food related words and are instructed to find them in the grid. The student can choose different levels including easy, medium, hard, and impossible.
1.) Color
The site is very colorful and would be appealing and interesting to students.
2.) Repetition
The game is not very repetitious; it gives you different words every time, but it would still help students to learn words and be able to recognize spelling forwards and backwards.
3.) Talking Text
There is no talking text. 4.) Visual Cues There aren't many clues, but you can get a hint if you need one. 5.) Mistakes The words seem a little difficult considering the age level. 6.) Rating6, could be more interesting. 7.) Highlighted Cues The directions are very simple, there aren't step by step directions, just a prompt before the game, as well as a "Help" button. 8.) Navigation Routine Very easy to locate and navigate through. 9.) Click back and back Doesnt allow to go back, but allows you to restart the game.10.) Click and DragYou have to click and drag across the letters to circle to words once they are found.

Site Summary:http://www.earobics.com/gamegoo/games/frieda/frieda.html (4-6)The site contains many different games that are all related to language arts and spelling, as well as phonics and typing. The game I chose, called Fearless Frieda, says a word and the player must type the correct spelling of the word for points. The character on the game is skateboarding, and when a child spells the word right, the character does a trick. If a word is spelled wrong, the character falls. The child can still try to type the correct spelling of the word, and there aren't really any penalties. 1.) ColorThe game is very colorful and beautifully done. The graphics and the subject matter (skateboarding) is something that students would be interested in. 2.) RepetitionThe words repeat if the game is played again, but as the game progresses it gives you new and harder words each time. 3.) Talking TextThe game says the word that the player has to spell and it also sounds the word out as the player is spelling it. 4.) Visual CuesThe game displays the correct spelling of the word as the player types it. 5.) MistakesThere are no mistakes in the game, but if a player makes a mistake there are no penalties; the player can continue to try and spell the word. 6.) Rating8 7.) Highlighted CuesThe game says the directions at the beginning but only gives a few step by step directions. 8.) Navigation RoutineThe game is very simple and self explanatory to navigate. 9.) Click back and backWhen you click back it takes you to the menu of all of the games. 10.) Click and DragThere is no clicking and dragging, it is a typing game.
